The Performing Arts Series at Johnson County Community College celebrated its 20th anniversary on Sept. 25 with singer Natalie Cole. A sold-out audience in Yardley Hall enjoyed Cole's extensive repertoire backed by a big band, including 12 Kansas City musicians. The event raised about $50,000 with corporate sponsorships from AT&T, Commerce Bank, Shawnee Mission Medical Center, Garmin, PGAVArchitects, Capitol Federal Foundation and the Marriott-Overland Park.
