The Belger Arts Center presents from the melting pot into the fire: Contemporary Ceramics in Israel on First Friday, Nov. 5. This formidable exhibition, featuring over 30 works, was organized by the Ceramic Artists Association of Israel in conjunction with the Mint Museum of Art + Design in Charlotte, NC. Many of the works in this exhibition feature multiple components and cover a wide-range of scale. The exhibit will run through Jan. 15.

The Belger will also join forces with Red Star Studios to provide a hands-on ceramics experience for school children on organized tours of the melting pot show. Red Star Studios, a ceramics organization featuring gallery space and studio space, is temporarily operating on the ground floor of the Belger Building at 2100 Walnut Street. The Belger Arts Center galleries are on the third floor of the same building. Guests can purchase copies of a catalog that the Gardiner Museum of Toronto produced for this exhibit. The catalogs feature color reproductions of all the artwork in the exhibit, plus descriptive text from each artist, and an essay by Shlomit Bauman, former director of the Ceramic Artist Association of Israel.
