Artists Profile: Kathy Coleman-Corbett

Artist name and hometown:
Kathy Coleman-Corbett, Kansas City-North

Occupation:
Realtor, writer, speaker and artist

Main art form:
I have painted with oils, but they dry too slowly for me. I have tried watercolor, colored pencil, pen & ink, but I always come back to acrylic.

“I used to be a serious painter and displayed my paintings in several art shows as well as private showings. I specialized in wildlife art. I had less time to paint after I became a realtor 19 years ago. I started painting murals for builders in model homes and found I liked painting murals. I had several calls from people wanting me to paint for them as a result of seeing my work. I have painted murals in many private homes as a result as well as churches in Kansas City, Kearney, Cameron and Carrolton, Mo., and I painted a mural in a hospital in Santiago, Panama.”

Goals:
To continue to paint for pleasure, plus write and illustrate a children’s book.
