When Elwood P. Dowd starts to
introduce his imaginary friend, Harvey, a six-and-a-half-foot rabbit, to guests

she can tolerate and decides to have him committed to a sanitarium to spare her
daughter and their family from future embarrassment. Problems arise, however,
in this Pulitzer-prize winning comedy.

Arts Alive has been offering monthly events for over 10 years but has never included children and families in any of these cultural events. One of our missions is to involve young people and families into the cultural arts and we have found the perfect venue to accomplish this goal.
The Coterie Theatre in Crown Center is one of the top five theaters in America whose mission is directed at families and young people. Their production of The Wiz is the best example of taking a proven theatrical hit and reworking it expressly for a younger audience. Parents (and grandparents) will enjoy this play too.
Arts Alive is making a special event price for only $10 person to encourage families to join us for a wonderful evening of family fun in Washington Park (just across from the Westin Crown Center Hotel) at 5:30 on Friday afternoon, July 15th, followed by the Coterie's performance of The Wiz at 7 o'clock.
The Coterie is located on the first floor of the Crown Center shops to the left of the front entrance.
*The Coterie states that the performances are best suited for children aged 4 and older. *
